The
purpose of the Reiki healing session is to promote physical, mental,
emotional, and spiritual balance and healing. This energetic balance
brings you back into awareness of your
True Self by clearing energetic blocks and bringing
in fresh energy. Your own body/Self takes that energy and applies it as
it is needed and as you are ready. So every Reiki experience is unique.
During a one-hour Reiki
healing session:
There
is nothing you need to do in preparation for the
session.
It is best, though, that you do not drink alcohol nor take
any
other mind-altering substance beforehand, as this can affect the
energy. You can still take any necessary pain or
prescription medication.
You
lie down on a
massage table, fully clothed.
Animals like
Reiki too.
The
Reiki practitioner can give you a meditation to help you relax, or you
can do whatever you normally do to relax. You don't need to
believe in anything, just relax and be open.
The
Reiki practitioner lays her hands on or above your body, along certain
channels, usually
starting at the head and working down to the feet, including
any
areas of special need.
You may experience any or none
of the following: feelings of warmth or
coolness coming from the practitioner's hands or movingthrough your
body, visions of images or colors while you are awake with your eyes
closed, deep physical relaxation, release from physical pain, emotional
release
through crying or laughing, freedom from anxiety,
lifting of emotional
burdens, feeling light and child-like, mental clarity in general or
clarity about something you need to work out, healing from
sadness or depression, healing over grief due to loss, feelings of
being completely nurtured and connected to the universe, blissing out,
peace. Some of these may occur sometime after the
session
as well.
It's
okay if you fall asleep! This is an indication that you are fully
relaxed and open to integrating Reiki on a deep level.
A Reiki session
is not:
A religious practice, massage,
nor sexual encounter.
Someone
else healing you with their own power. The Reiki practitioner is there
to channel
energy
that your True Self will use to your highest purpose. While most people
have a deeply relaxing and renewing experience at the very least, there is no
guaranteed outcome for a Reiki session.
A
replacement therapy for acute medical or psychological
disorders.
Reiki is an excellent adjunct to medical or psychological care.
How much is a Reiki session?
The
fee for a one-hour Reiki healing session is $75. First-time
True
Nature Reiki clients are offered an introductory rate of $60 for their
first session. To arrange for a session, see Contact and Location Info.
How often should I
have Reiki?
A
single Reiki session can create a wonderful sense of well-being and
healing, and can be enjoyed any time, as often as you like. The more
sessions you have, the more open and in tune with
the energy you
become, which amplifies the benefits of each Reiki session. Multiple
sessions may be best for chronic conditions.
Reiki Sharing Sessions
Reiki sharing sessions
provide Reiki practitioners an
opportunity to
give and receive Reiki, and Reiki clients an opportunity to receive
Reiki, often from multiple practitioners and at reduced cost. You don't
make an appointment to participate in the sharing sessions; just show
up. The fee is
$10 for Reiki practitioners and $20 for walk-in Reiki clients. True
Nature Reiki Sharing Session dates are TBD. If you are interested in
participating in a sharing session as a practitioner or client,
see Contact
and Location Info.
